0.0.5 - Wrapping up phase 1


This release comes with a new Windows build.

  • Objectives and new story items
    • After finishing the tutorial, you will now get objectives that you can complete
    • The playtest now has an ending
  • Music
  • New saving and loading system
    • Complete rewrite with different implementations depending on the runtime (e.g. when playing on desktop, it will save to the filesystem)
  • New main menu
    • “Continue”, splash screen, credits, news, fading between scenes, Steam link etc
  • New options
    • Disable shadows (use this if you’re getting low FPS in the mines)
    • Keybindings
    • Etc
  • Firefox issues
    • The Firefox problems plaguing Windows players have been identified and hopefully solved
  • New platform agnostic cursors
  • Kinetic Slag Press will now display the minimum required drop height
  • Most visual effects are now displayed on top of player
    • Also added some new visual effects
  • Ruler now displays width and height as well as total tiles
  • New parallax layer (WIP)
  • Added sound effects when using firing the cryoblaster
  • Notifications rework
  • “Quit” in game now takes you to the main menu
  • When placing filters the direction is now displayed
  • You can now skip the tutorial (this will immediately unlock Refining 1)
  • Burning things now trigger room reveals
  • Scroll wheel and right mouse buttons no longer trigger actions
  • Collectors now default to rectangular build mode
  • Changed some texts
  • Bug fixes
    • Marquee and demolisher no longer get stuck when:
      • dragging outside the window
      • releasing on top of UI elements
      • releasing the shortcuts while dragging
    • It is no longer possible to brick a save by firing the flamethrower in certain positions
    • Manually pressing submenu items now correctly triggers tutorial completions
    • You can no longer use the hotbar before it’s visible in the tutorial
    • Cryoblaster no longer overwrites elements
